The percentage of Canadians who see climate change as the country’s most pressing concern has more than doubled in a few months. Political support from all federal parties is bleeding over to the Green Party. The only party that is not losing adherents is the one that cares least about the environment: the Conservatives. This sets the stage for a scenario in which neo-conservative intransigence on the environment could carry the day in the next election without much of the popular vote at all.
