Is It Any Surprise That Al Gore Travels Carbon Free!

Gore will talk sustainability with students, and walk sustainability with Zerofootprint Offsets.

Toronto, ON: On Wednesday, February 21st, former US vice-president and presidential candidate Al Gore will speak to a sold out audience at the University of Toronto’s ‘Moving Canada Towards Sustainability’ forum. The popular figure will headline a day of events with a speech on the dangers of global warming.

Those who have seen Gore’s celebrated film ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ will know that the politician has given his talks on climate change in dozens of cities all over the world. Air and ground travel produce carbon dioxide, the primary greenhouse gas, and so the University of Toronto, which is hosting the event, and Zerofootprint have teamed up to offset the CO2 produced from the transportation being used for this event.

“The timing for this event could not be better,” says Ingrid Stefanovic, Director of the U of T’s Centre for Environment. “Climate change has become a priority issue for many Canadians and it is wonderful that we are able to offset Mr. Gore’s travel emissions for this important speech.”

“It wasn’t that long ago that Zerofootprint founder Ron Denbo spoke at a preview screening of Al Gore’s ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ to Toronto audiences,” says Deborah Kaplan, Executive Director of Zerofootprint. “It seems only fitting that the former Vice President and now, a Nobel Peace Prize nominee would offset his carbon emissions through Zerofootprint.”

Zerofootprint’s portfolio of renewable energy and forestation offsets flows money into certified projects that prevent and absorb climate-changing CO2 emissions. When you see the Zerofootprint seal, you know that these offsets are guaranteed to highest possible standards.
